COLBERT CAMERON MITIGATION BANK

Colbert-Cameron Mitigtation Bank (CCMB) is a 2,600 acre bank  located in Volusia County. The property features forested wetlands, prairies, cypress domes and a unique inland Salt Marsh area. CCMB contains and protects the headwaters of Cabbage Slough, a tributary of the St. Johns River, which joins the River at its confluence with the Little Econlockhatchee River.

 There are several active eagle nests located on the property and the site is utilized by the Florida Black Bear. CCMB is adjacent to thousands of acres of St. Johns River Water Management District owned lands and provides an additional buffer between these lands and development in the area.

CCMB is State and Federally approved and credits are available to offset impacts for projects located in  North and East Orange County, Seminole, Volusia, Osceola and Brevard Counties. Its service area also includes St. Johns River Water Management District basins 18, 19, 23 and part of 20.  CCMB is also approved to offset The bank is permitted to offset Riparian Habitat Protection Zone (RHPZ) impacts for select projects.

(Haliaeetus leucocephalus)

During breeding season, the male and female work together to build a nest of sticks. The nests can weigh up to a ton and measure up to 8 feet across. While one parent sits on the eggs, the other will hunt and collect materials for nest upkeep.
